Access Statement For Mulberry Cottage
Mulberry Cottage is a small annexe attached to our city centre town house. It has its own entrance and parking and is all on ground floor level. As we live next door, we are always happy to help to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you to Mulberry Cottage and Lancaster

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
Mulberry Cottage has its own parking space at the back of our garden about 50 yards from the cottage although visitors can be dropped off nearer the garden entrance approx 10 yards from the cottage. The car park is tarmac and there is one lower step at the entrance to the garden. The path through the garden in Yorkshire Paving slabs and can be a little slippy. The car park is well lit and there is a security light in the garden. If you arrive by train, I can come and meet you and the railway station is 2 minute walk from the cottage (up a quite steep hill).
Main Entrance & Reception
The main entrance is through the small hall although there is an alternative entrance through the french doors into the living area. There is one step at both entrances. Both doors are hinged on the left (as you look at it from the outside).
Most of our guests come to our front door and are shown round to the cottage.

Mulberry Cottage has a sitting area with table and chairs on a patio just outside the cottage in our walled garden overlooking the 400 year old mulberry tree
Caravans, Holiday Homes & Twin Units
The cottage has a smoke detector in the main room and there is a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. Emergency procedure and contact details are in the cottage and a fire risk assessment. The entrance is through a small hall and then right through the galley kitchen into the main living area. This is divided into a sitting area with 2 seater sofa bed and chair (with arms) with TV/DVD with remote control. The dining area by the french windows seats two (chairs with no arms). The double bed is accessible from both sides and there is extra bedding in the cupboard. The room is lit by a central light and 4 lamps. The bathroom which is right of the entrance has a shower (1step) plus toilet and basin. There is a washer/dryer in the entrance hall. All the instructions for the equipment in the cottage are in the welcome file together with information for days outs. The cottage is all on one level. The floor in the living area is carpeted and the floor in the kitchen, hall and bathroom is lino. There are 2 rugs in the living area which can be removed easily. The central heating is on the main house system and if you want the heating on during the night please just ask. There is a electric fire in the living area and an additional radiator available in the cupboard. The bathroom has a heater.
