Enjoy the beautiful and tranquil walled garden. It's a quiet haven within the Castle Conservation Area and above the hustle and bustle of the city below.

"The gardens are stunning, we couldn't stop taking pictures! We enjoyed watching Souffle (one of the resident chickens) wander about the yard".   S May 2019

Beautiful garden, a delightful and cosy cottage. Thanks!

Lovely cottage, beautiful garden - a peaceful and calm getaway. Thank you Catherine and David.

"Wow, what a gem.  The garden is amazing".  S March 2019

"Mulberry Cottage what a lovely, delightful and cosy place to stay and enjoy Lancaster, so close to everything".  G & K Jan 20

We really enjoyed our stay in Mulberry Cottage. A beautiful, peaceful country garden in the middle of Lancaster. Perfect!

A wonderful cottage, relaxing and homely. Beautiful garden, the patio is a real suntrap! Ideally situated for historical Lancaster. Cottage is very nice and thoughtfully supplied with everything we needed. Just great! Many thanks, we will be back!

"The garden is wonderful, even just looking out the window to the garden/fish pond during the chilly rainy weather in November; I can imagine how lovely it would be to sit our there in warmer weather".   A Nov 2019

One of the strongest features of the house and cottage is the size and tranquility of our outdoor space. Being located on the hilltop within the Castle Conservation area we enjoy the associated peace and tranquility ostensibly far from the bustling city centre only hundreds of metres away.

The garden is surrounded by its own stone wall and beyond this, magnificent Georgian period, stone buildings. In keeping with the house, a stone flagged patio, facing south is a sun trap which provides a captivating view down the garden, past our historic mulberry tree to the landscaped trees and sky.

We have recently welcomed Obi, a Sprocker Spaniel puppy into our family, who is a bundle of energy and fun.  If you would like to bring your dog with you, please let us know when booking.  There is a charge of  £25 per week for a dog to stay.  We have 3 resident chickens that live in the garden, Souffle who is now an old lady of 11 years and roams freely in the garden.  Milly and Molly, have their own accommodation at the bottom of the garden though are occasionally allowed out.   They provide us and hopefully our guests with lovely brown eggs.

Many guest like also to sit and watch from the patio doors the fish in the sunken fish pond, The large goldfish swim about all day providing wonderfully relaxing moments for those that care to gaze on them.  There is also a smaller pond at the bottom of our garden which also has fish in.

Our guests love sitting in our garden and enjoying the tranquility of the garden and watching me work in the garden whilst they relax.
